India General Election 2014 : Lok Sabha Elections Everything you want to know about parliamentary election of India


2014 Election for Lok sabha will be the 16 th and first indian general election was held in 1951 - 1952. Elections to the lower house of the Indian parliament is conducted in every five years if government loses confidence of majority of members and if there is no alternative government to take over. 


In India election constituencies are divided into 543 and also based on the number of seats are alloted to each of the 28 states and seven union territories and its populations. After the election results one member is elected to the lok sabha from each constituency totally 545 seats. 543 seats alloted to the lok sabha member and another two member are nominated for the president.
